Forgotten Vines (fka, Invisible Assets) in progress
‘Forgotten Vines’ tells the story of the Chinese workers who planted approximately 80% of the vineyards in California, building caves and wine presses in the 1800s. Along with European immigrants, the Chinese established the commercial wine industry in California. When racism towards the Chinese grew, their role – and history – was erased.

Featuring a group of teens who venture out on a powerful journey of discovery, this short documentary film chronicles interviews with Holocaust survivors by these teens who learn about the profound resilience of its victims, the pervasive threat of antisemitism, then and now, and how it’s possible to find hope and compassion even in the darkest of times.
